Orange Chicken

preparation time: 14 minutes

  • Step 1(3 to 4 minutes)

    Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in 10-inch nonstick* skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken; stir-fry 3 to 4 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Step 2(3 minutes)

    Reduce heat to medium; remove chicken from skillet. Add vegetables, sauce and ¼ cup water to skillet; heat to boiling. Cover; cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Step 3(4 to 6 minutes)

    Add chicken to skillet; stir-fry 4 to 6 minutes until mixture is thoroughly cooked.**
  • Step 4(2-3 minutes)

    Place rice pouch, printed side up, on microwavable plate. Do not cut slit in rice pouch. Microwave on high 2-3 minutes. Let stand 1 minute. NOTE: popping sound may occur when microwaving. CAUTION: HOT!
  • Step 5(1 minute)

    Serve immediately.

*Using a skillet without a nonstick finish is not recommended.

For thinner sauce, stir in more water, 1 tablespoon at a time, during or after cooking.

High Altitude (3500-6500 ft)
Chicken and vegetables: Increase amount of water and cook time as needed; adjust heat setting as needed. Cook thoroughly to at least 160ºF. Rice: no change.
